Good Morning!

Feb 2, 2012 (Groundhog Day yippee! Six more weeks of winter...right) This is a new blog about clouds, weather and aerokinesis! Stay tuned. It's a work in progress.

TWC Predicts Rising Tornado Threat Friday Thru Sunday

2012 April 13
by Davidlind

I haven’t spent much time on this blog lately because it seems kind of crazy to be messing around with the weather.  But here we have a clear case of a potentially devastating weather event predicted for this weekend.  So let’s see what can be done.  We have had more than enough tornadoes already this year!  And last year too.

No tornadoes this weekend!   Stop the insanity (the weather insanity at least).

Weather This Week/ The Big Picture

2012 February 9
by Davidlind

The frigid cold continues in Europe as the week moves on and I’m thinking that aerokinesis is not having much of an impact.  It could be that this type of weather event has to be put in the same category as droughts.  Last summer I spent some time trying to figure out how to influence the drought in Texas.  It was severe at that time.  Maybe it still is. . .I haven’t really checked since returning to this activity.  But here is the thing that happened.  We were able to bring rain to Dallas in a specific time frame.  And that was not easy.  It was difficult to say that it was a random event.

But the drought was a different story.  Over a month went by and nothing changed.  So, my impression was that it is possible (perhaps) to influence storms, even great storms like the tropical storm that avoided Haiti or the hurricane that went up the East Coast of the US.  But droughts that bake the southern US or cold that freezes Europe are not so easily changed.

I’m not aware of any storms at this moment that are threatening life or property in the US either.  There will be snow and rain.  It will be cold in certain places.  But my notion is not to change the weather in spots just to be practicing this art.  Besides, it’s possible that if you change one thing it will have unanticipated results somewhere else.  And I am reminded, once again, of the earthquake that shook us all up last August in this regard.

So these are just philosophical thoughts about the bigger picture.  Who knows?  My point is just to make a record of my notions about aerokinesis and the events that happen over time.

Sunday Weather Summary/ Areas We Are Watching/ Snow In The US/ Floods In Australia/ Cold In Europe

2012 February 5

It’s Super Bowl Sunday and I guess most of the excitement is going to be on the football field and under the dome.  Not much to worry about weather-wise.  Even the tailgating activities prior to the game look to be unencumbered by rain or wind.  The winter storm that dumped “historic” amounts of snow for the month of February on Denver has moved on and fizzled out a bit.  It’s heading towards us, here in Virginia!  Are we worried?  Not much.  The last forlorn, little snowflake may fall in our backyard.  Hmm, that could be a children’s story.

There are terrible floods happening in Australia.  Here is a link to the Accuweather report. But the rain has stopped since we began writing this new blog. So there’s not room for another experiment. We can, of course, try and discourage the rain from returning.

The cold in Europe should abate this week. Can you imagine being homeless in the middle of a bitterly cold weather event? Europe is facing economic hard times and a harsh winter. I feel for them and will focus on raising the temperatures there! My weather muse needs to work overtime here. Here is a map predicting temperatures on Thursday of this week from WeatherOnline Europe. I will go back here on Thursday and we will do a little comparison to see how much of the cold has actually gone away as part of our Weather Experiment.

But today there doesn’t seem to be much violent change happening as I noted earlier. Not to say that there isn’t much human suffering happening. There’s always lots of that as the result of prior weather events. And there will probably even be some of it on a football field up there in Minnesota. Even if it is covered by a huge roof.

Everything was calm on this morning. No clouds. Nothing stirred. The ocean gives us so many looks, so many moods. It is truly a reflection of nature’s many facets.

A possible tornado touched down in Snook, Texas and brought power lines down. In nearby College Station, Texas, one inch hail broke a window on a home near the corner of Marion Pugh and George Bush Drive.  –Accuweather Report

Here we can put a human face on some of the cold weather statistics for Europe.  The Big Picture always manages to capture the essence of an event.

Stormy Weather In Texas And Oklahoma

Well, this big storm is moving along out in the middle of the country but, so far, it’s not doing much damage according to this meteorologist at Accuweather.  And this is what we are trying to focus on as I noted last night.  So far our experiment is going well.

It’s going to rain.  And the snow will pile up.  But we are trying to diminish severe damage and a death toll.  And that’s all for now.

Storms And Possible Tornadoes Forecast / Weather Experiment

2012 February 2

 Accuweather Report

Strong to severe thunderstorms will erupt across parts of Oklahoma and Texas starting late today and persisting through tonight.

A storm system developing over the southern Rockies will slowly push into the southern Plains, setting up powerful and potentially destructive thunderstorms.

The main threats with these storms will be strong, damaging winds, large hail, torrential downpours and flash flooding, and even a tornado or two.

We are resuming experiments with the weather today.  So here we go!  Let’s see if we can focus on this area and ask the weather guys to prevent damaging weather late today and tonight.
